My name is Jon Henderson. I am an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor and professional therapist serving Sevenoaks and the surrounding area of Kent. If you are interested in counselling or psychotherapy, I can provide a safe and confidential space in which you are encouraged to explore your reasons for seeking counselling. We can work together on a short-term or long-term basis, depending on your needs.

About me
I work as a professional therapist in West Kent and Mid Sussex – based at Mind, a mental health charity in Sevenoaks, as well as my own private practice in Hassocks. I have additionally worked as a grief counsellor at the Martlets Hospice in Hove, and at St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley.
Holding a Postgraduate Diploma in TA (Transactional Analysis) Psychotherapy Practice, I have extensive training as both a psychotherapist and counsellor. I have worked within a 12 Step Programme for alcohol addiction – I have years of experience on providing therapy for all forms of addictions as well as related traumas.
No matter why you are considering therapy, I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space in which to address issues and help you move forward.
Counselling and psychotherapy in Sevenoaks
We will start with a first session that typically is up to an hour long. This gives you the chance to see if you feel comfortable with me as your counsellor. During the session I will also have the opportunity to find out more about you to make sure I can offer best possible therapy for you.
If we decide to continue with ongoing therapy sessions, these will normally take place weekly at the same time and location as your first session. From Sevenoaks, I offer my range of counselling services serving Brasted, Chipstead, Orpington, Westerham, Oxted and beyond. I can provide early morning or evening sessions as necessary, and if you are in need of low-cost tariffs, please ask me for details.
